Hexagon garage lighting ideas: 12 layouts with sizes

Twelve layouts from our catalog, each a kit you can order, with its overall size and wattage. Sizes are for the fixture itself; the lit area extends a few feet (a meter or so) past each edge.
For a single bay
1. The classic honeycomb: hexagons tiled edge to edge inside a lit border, centered on the parking space: ZT1028 (15′10″ × 8′0″ / 4.84 × 2.43 m · 552 W). 2. The framed diamond: a lit border around a diamond lattice, which gives the ceiling a finished edge: ZT2018 (15′10″ × 8′0″ / 4.84 × 2.43 m · 512 W). 3. The meander: three square-wave lines running the length of a lit border, suited to a single car: ZT3048 (15′11″ × 8′0″ / 4.84 × 2.44 m · 552 W).
For a two-car garage
4. One grid per bay: two single-bay honeycombs, one centered over each bay, each on its own driver: two ZT1028 (15′10″ × 8′0″ / 4.84 × 2.43 m · 552 W) kits, 10% off as a pair. 5. The wall-to-wall lattice: one large diamond grid across both bays: ZT6166 (18′8″ × 11′3″ / 5.69 × 3.43 m · 630 W). 6. The large honeycomb: one honeycomb lattice spanning both bays: ZT6165 (18′3″ × 10′7″ / 5.57 × 3.23 m · 945 W).

7. The starburst: a star pattern radiating from a center point, large enough to span a two-car ceiling: ZT6157 (18′4″ × 15′10″ / 5.59 × 4.84 m · 756 W). 8. The chevron runway: chevrons running the length of the bay inside a lit border: ZT6162 (16′2″ × 8′3″ / 4.92 × 2.51 m · 384 W). 9. Concentric hexagons: each cell drawn as rings within rings, for a strongly graphic ceiling: ZT6134 (15′10″ × 9′2″ / 4.83 × 2.80 m · 724.5 W).

10. The workbench light: a single hexagon ring directly over the bench: ZLA001 (4′4″ × 3′10″ / 1.32 × 1.18 m · 117 W). 11. The gym corner: a compact five-hexagon grid over the rack, at 6500K for training, or 3000K where the room also serves as a lounge: ZT1035 (7′9″ × 5′5″ / 2.37 × 1.65 m · 144 W). 12. RGB for the games half: a Chroma RGB grid where half the garage is a games room: ZTF563-RGB (7′8″ × 7′4″ / 2.33 × 2.24 m · 56 W).

Questions people ask
- What size hexagon light do I need for a one-car garage?
- A single bay is usually about 12 × 20 ft (3.7 × 6.1 m). A grid of about 8 × 16 ft (2.4 × 4.9 m), roughly 130 sq ft (12 m²) of fixture, lights it wall to wall; a compact grid of about 8 × 5 ft (2.4 × 1.6 m) works over just the parking space.
- What about a two-car garage?
- Two-car garages are typically 20 × 20 ft (6.1 × 6.1 m) or larger. Choose one large grid of about 18 × 11–16 ft (5.5 × 3.4–4.9 m) centered across both bays, or one single-bay grid over each bay, each on its own driver. Two of the same kit are 10% off.
- Which hexagon pattern suits a garage best?
- Honeycomb, with hexagons tiled edge to edge, is the classic garage pattern and the largest collection in our range. Diamond lattices give a stronger sense of depth; a lit border makes the ceiling look finished.
