Hexagon ceiling lights: patterns, sizes and how to choose

Choose the pattern first. The room sets the size and the size sets the price, but the pattern is what you see every day. Below is each pattern family in our range and where it works best.
Honeycomb
Hexagons tiled edge to edge. The pattern most associated with garages and detailing bays, and the largest collection in our range. Best in garages, workshops and gyms. Browse honeycomb designs →
Diamond and cube
Rhombus lattices that read as three-dimensional cubes from the floor. A strong choice for showrooms and content studios, where the ceiling appears on camera. Browse diamond and cube designs →
Framed
A lit border with a pattern, or open space, inside it. The border gives the ceiling a defined edge, as trim does on a wall. Best in garages that double as showrooms, and in retail. Browse framed designs →
Chevron, triangle and starburst
Chevrons lead the eye along a room and suit long bays. Triangles form a tight, technical pattern. A starburst radiates from a center point and works best over a single focal object, such as a car, a pool table or a dining table. Chevron · Triangle · Starburst

Questions people ask
- Do hexagon ceiling lights work on drywall ceilings?
- Yes. The kit includes ceiling anchors and screws, and the grid is fixed at its joints, where the connectors carry the load. Fix into joists where you can. Where drywall has nothing behind it, or on a drop ceiling, fix to the structure above and suspend.
- How high should the ceiling be for a hexagon grid?
- Grids mount close to the ceiling, so they suit standard 8 ft (2.4 m) ceilings and anything higher. In tall spaces they can be suspended from the structure above; suspension hardware is not included.
- Can I extend a hexagon ceiling light later?
- Each kit is a complete grid with its own driver, sized to that kit’s load. For a larger ceiling, choose a larger design, or add a second kit as a separate grid on its own driver. Send us your ceiling size and we will suggest a layout.
